Board of Adjustment

 

Coterminous, 2 year term, 7 regular members, 1 alternate, City residents only. Must be registered voter. Cannot serve on Planning Board

 

Administrative review; empowered to reverse the decision of the Building Official as it relates to zoning codes. Grants variances.

 

Planning Board

 

Coterminous, 2 year term , 5 regular members, 2 alternates, City resident only – Must be registered voters- cannot serve on Board of Adjustment

 

Act in an advisory capacity to the City Council relating to zoning, land use and Comprehensive Plan.

 

Finance Committee

 

Coterminous, 2 year term , 5 member board

City residents (Utility User)

 

To review the fiscal activities of the City and to make recommendations to the City Council regarding such items as:  budgets (proposed and actual), debt service, financial policies and capital expenditures.

 

Historic Preservation

Board

 

Coterminous, 2 year term , 7 member board; must own city real estate or own a business; City/County residents

 

Act in an advisory capacity to City Council relating to historic architecture and archeology within the City of St. Cloud.

 

Recreation Committee

 

Coterminous, 2 year term , 7 member board

City/County residents

 

To work in cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Department and other organizations to plan and implement leisure time programs and facilities for all residents.

 

Construction Board of Adjustment

 

Non-coterminous, 4 year term (regular) 1 year term (alternate), 7 regular members (by profession), 2 alternates

 

Administrative review regarding requests by contractors and/or private citizens for variances to, or interpretation of, the City’s Building codes.

 

Code Enforcement

 

Non-coterminous, 3 year term, 7 regular members, Residents only

 

Examine cases presented by the City's Code Enforcement Officer; empowered to adjudicate cases determining whether a citizen is in compliance or not and imposing a fine in cases of noncompliance.

 

Police & Firefighters Pension Board of Trustees

 

Noncoterminous, 2 year term, 5 member board (2 residents appointed by City Council, 2 Police Officers elected by Police Officers, 1 chosen by majority of the 4 members & confirmed by City Council)

 

 

Trustees that oversee the asset management of the police and fire pension funds. 

 

 

General Employee Pension Board of Trustees

 

Noncoterminous, 5 year term, 7 member board (3 City residents appointed by Council, 4 members elected by employees)

 

Trustees that oversee the asset management of the general employee pension fund.

 

Tree Advisory

 

Coterminous, 2 year term, 5 member board, City/County residents (not more than 2 County residents)

 

Citizen advisory board working in cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Landscape Designer and other organizations dealing with parks and recreation, conservation, an/or the environment and to plan and implement programs of tree planting and preservation, conservation, and environmental awareness.
